Bloody Monday

Going to start watchingブラッディ・マンデイ (Bloody Monday) tonight. I think everyone I know have pretty much told me that this is an extraordinary jdrama. Therefore I must see it, besides 三浦春馬 is a great actor and he's a hottie. I'm still envious of Sandra who saw him in Tokyo!

Tokyo, every area

I found this excellent video on youtube where someone has filmed most big areas of Tokyo like - Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara etc. and it felt just like I was there! This really made me realize that my departure is really soon and it still doesn't feel real. I've been waiting for this so long that I can't even realize that it's happening.

Anyhow, I better get back to my ordinary life now. I'm going to clean my room at mum's house since I cleaned my room at grandma's house yesterday. Also, I've started with a pretty neat packling list which only gets bigger and bigger. However, I'm a bit worried about my exam results again... and my CoE STILL hasn't arrived so it's sucky, getting all worried and all. I'm going to call my contact person Anna in 15 minutes just to check what's up with everything. Furthermore, I'm going to the gym today and I'm going to take some passport pictures for sending everything to the Swedish Embassy and I also need two pictures for my Alien Registration Card in Japan so I figured I might as well take them now.

ps. I've got really awesome news! My grandma allowed me to bring our video camera to Japan! Now you don't have to expect pictures only but videos as well! ^-^ lol, I'll probabaly end up as those Tokyo Vloggers from America, haha.

Birthday equals studying

Yesterday was a perfect day since it was really sunny and warm. Me and Rosa went to do some shopping and I bought a belt on second hand, three pair of earrings, a perfume with vanilla fragrance, biker shorts and some other things! Overall it was a pretty nice day and we watched Eurovision song contest later. I was so sad that Serbia didn't win, haha! I love Milan Stankovic by now, haha he's so charming and bad at dancing.

Anyhow, today is my birthday and I was so happy when Eri called me! We haven't talked in a while and it was soooo nice to hear from her again ^-^ thank you Eri! Then my dad called and my grandmother from Serbia called too and my lil' sis talked to me hahaha, so damn cute!

Also, since every post in this blog has to be related to Japan somehow I'm going to tell you guys that I got an e-mail from one of my future room mates in the Guest house. He told me that another Swedish student had to retake the General course (the elementary course that I will enroll) because he was not prepared for what was to come. So, he pretty much got me all scared so now I'm going to study Hiragana and Katakana like crazy. What a fun birthday! Haha.

10 000¥

My grandmother's sister's husband (haha oh the family) gave me a lot of yen as a gift before I leave for Japan and for my graduation. This was the first time that I encountered the man on the 10 000 ¥ and I was a bit curious to know more about him as he looks very respectable and prestigious. So I did some research (read: wikipedia) and I found this;

"Fukuzawa Yukichi was a Japanese author, writer, teacher, translator, entrepreneur and political theorist who founded Keio University. His ideas about government and social institutions made a lasting impression on a rapidly changing Japan during the Meiji Era. He is regarded as one of the founders of modern Japan."

He sounds pretty much like a multiworker (I don't know if it's a word, I just came up with it now to explain someone who has several jobs, haha).

Summer preparations, shopping

Did some shopping today too. There are some things left to buy before I leave for Japan and I'm trying to be all loaded so I don't have to think about what extra things I should buy when I'm there. So, the small bag is more like a big I'll use for the upcoming prom, but I figured it will be pretty handy and stylish to have for my iTouch, cellphone and money and I can still have it in a bigger bag that I will get later. Also, as most people know the summers in Japan are extremely humid and hot so a pair of shorts are a must!

Anyhow, I'll bring several pair of shorts and tees. I'm also going to bring a sun lotion that I bought at IKEA the other day - it's got a high SPF factor of 30. Most westerns like myself are really pale so I don't think a sun lotion with SPF 20 would work on me as my skin is not in that state, yet.

...when grocery shopping!

When I did some grocery shopping with my friend Chikako once she brought a small bag and I asked her where she got and she told me that in Japan people usually don't use plastic bags, instead they have their own special bag that they bring to carry the food in. As I remember this yesterday when I was shopping I bought myself a pretty "bag" that I'm going to bring to Japan and bring to the grocery shops! It's totally like me, fruits and watermelon, haha.

Also, I fell in love with the t-shirt since I love ice cream and I've heard that Japanese ice cream shops are amazing with tons of flavours. I'll force Nana to bring me to one! (I guess I don't even have to force her, since it's summer and everyone are happy about ice cream). I bought the bag at H&M and the t-shirt at Ginatricot :)

Supadupatroopa Japanese app for iPhone/iTouch!

I bought this awesome app called "Japanese" for my iTouch. It's really handy because you can search for words, find kanjis by writing them yourself - like if you're walking somewhere let's say Harajuku and you see a kanji you can't recognize you just simply write it with your finger on your iPod and there will be an explanation (or several) on your iTouch! Isn't that great? I might not even have to buy that Electronic Dictionary and it would be nice if I didn't have to because it would save me loads of money.

Now, I got a message from my contactperson at Blueberry and she told me I had to add an extra 3295 kr ( = 410 USD ) for the course fee since the Japanese ¥ has increased considerably. I seriously hope that Japanese ¥ won't be too strong compared to the Swedish Krona because that'd totally ruin my Tokyo budget. Please God in heaven or anyone, stable the finance! I don't know if I mentioned that I paid the deposit which was 30 000¥. I paid it yesterday and I made sure that it was like "urgent" so the company will probably get it soon and I hope everything will be fine.

I can't believe that it's less than a month left before I leave for the land of the rising sun and the metropol of Asia. Seriously, a dream come true. Can someone please poke on me so I know that I'm not dreaming? Well, maybe I am dreaming. Anyway, I will go watch ブザー・ビート now.

News, news.. NewS?

This is hilarious. I forgot the password to this blog and to the gmail connected to this blog, I've got the worst memory ever. Wonder how I'll cope with the fact of learning hundreds and hundreds of kanji in school! Nah, I'm sure it will all be awesome.

Anyhow, I do have some good news! My CoE (Certification of Eligibility) is about to arrive soon from Japan since I paid my course fee (which was insanely expensive) and when I recieve it I have to send it along with my passport to the Swedish Embassy so that they can give me my Japanese Visa. I can't believe that all of this is actually happening, because I've been wanting this for so long and now when it's getting closer it's so surreal. Maybe that's why I'm not nervous yet, I'm so unconscious still. Also, I know where in Tokyo I'm going to live and it's only 30 minutes away from school and Shinjuku! JACKPOT! I've heard nightmare stories about people who have to sit in the metro for 1,5 hours to even get close to Tokyo so I'm extremely satisfied.

The guy who is head of my guest house sent me an e-mail and he told me everything I need to know more less. He also told me about my room mates - two Korean girls aged 24, two Japanese guys and a Swedish guy. I'm sure it will all be fine and awesome and I've got one of the biggest rooms and it's on the first floor. The rent is 57 000¥ and the utility fee has got the be paid every month during the summer because the air condition is used frequently, which I can understand - Japan during the summer is humid, hot and sweaty, from what I've heard. All Japanese people usually say that Japan is best to visit during Spring or Autumn, but Summer... not so much. Maybe I'll see what they mean, if I stay alive that is, haha!
